Who Are You?
I'm Dean Schlabowske. I've been int he retail wine business in Chicago for 22 years.
I own Cellar Rat Wine Shop, the wine equivalent of a great little indie record shop. There's nothing more rewarding to me than turning my customers on to a great bottle--something unique, something made with passion. A wine that's like that great song you hadn't heard before. My customers love buying from me because I'm honest, knowledgable, and opinionated. Because of my experience, I know where to get everything and I know how to pick the winners. The emails I send are as if you came into the shop and asked, "What are your favorite new wines in the shop?"
What Kind of Wines Are You Selling?
I'm not trying to appeal to the masses.
If you care enough to buy wines form the little guys who are doing all the right things--preserving classic styles, taking care of the environment, and expressing the unique qualities of their vineyard--then you'll like our wines. VinoBlast offerings will always express a sense of place and the passion of the winemaker. Often, they'll be from out of the way regions and made with unusual grape types. Most importantly, they'll always be in a balanced, elegant style, leaning toward the more traditional. No big, oaky, 90 point fruit bombs here. I'm not trying to hype the wines to move a few boxes. I want to find the right people to share in these unique wine experiences. My descriptions will be completely honest because I sincerely want you to enjoy every sip.
How Does It Work?
No commitment. Just click to sign up. If one of our wines sounds fantastic, reply to the email to order.
We send an email offering every Tuesday. Just one per week. We don't want to spam you. The first time you order, we'll need to collect your shipping info and payment info (which we store securely OFFLINE). From that point on, if you want to order from one of our offerings, just hit reply, tell us how many bottles you want, and they'll arrive the following week. We prefer to ship via UPS but can also ship FedEx if you prefer.
